The Agro Rural Development Program in coordination with the New Zealand Support Project for the Peruvian Dairy Sector strengthens the competencies of a total of 179 livestock producers , belonging to the districts of Tirapata, Caracoto, Putina and Ayaviri in the Puno Region in Peru.

The benefited users received training modules to strengthen their knowledge and capacities on issues related to body condition in dairy cattle, replacement management of calves, management of production records, cheese production, as well as composting of grasslands with guano from the islands as a source of organic fertilizer.

These producers have been continuously trained for a period of more than 3 years, through the New Zealand Support Project for the Peruvian Dairy Sector, which will allow the increase in their production and improve the quality of milk.

The New Zealand Support Project for the Peruvian Dairy Sector is a joint development initiative between the governments of Peru and New Zealand, which began its implementation in 2016.
