Researchers from Canada are studying the fruit of açaí in search of a treatment for the most serious symptoms of the new coronavirus. The fruits of açaí are cheap and available to everyone and they are safe to use making it worth a try. The effectiveness of the fruit is being tested against COVID-19. As the pandemic spreads across the world, experts note that the virus can cause acute inflammation and lead to health complications. Previous research has already shown that the fruit extract of this palm native to Central and South America can reduce inflammation. Early intervention with the extract, if effective, will prevent the most damaging symptoms associated with this potentially fatal virus.
