The cost of animal feed in Thailand has increased due to corn prices rising by 38% YoY to USD 0.36/kg, and soybean meal increasing by 18% YoY to USD 0.63/kg. The increasing prices of animal feed affect the production prices of chicken. The average domestic price of chicken has increased by 32.2% YoY, from USD 0.90/kg in 2021 to USD 1.19/kg in 2022. Forecasts indicate chicken exports from Thailand will improve in the second half of the year, despite high prices, since buyers will start to prepare for the holiday season.
