Italy is experiencing a growing volume of cereal and oilseed exports in 2022. Total cereal exports are up by 200,000MT while oilseeds are up by 5,700MT from January to May 2022 compared to the same period last year. The increased demand in cereals is for durum wheat, from Algeria and Tunisia, and rice and corn, from EU countries. The oil seed export growth is driven by the demand for soybean meal from EU countries. The increased volume is accompanied by an increase in value with cereals being up 66.9% compared to last year while oil seeds are up 89.9%.
