Last month, peanut prices rose between US$ 100-150/ton in the Brazilian market, an average increase of 10%. According to local producers, the upward trend is expected to continue even during the harvesting stage due to the high demand from the international market. Apparently, India is failing to meet Chinese needs alone and many inquiries are reaching Brazilian suppliers. In addition, the domestic market is heated and paying the highest prices in history in local currency.
