The transition of main producing areas from the west to the northwest part of Mexico has started to dictate the price tendency of jalapeño peppers. In W49, the states of Jalisco, Michoacan, Zacatecas, and San Luis, are ending their production cycle and are sending fewer products to the McAllen market, increasing prices. For this commodity, the prices quoted for JB/XL 35 lbs box are from USD 25 to USD 27. Prices are forecasted to keep increasing until the state of Sinaloa starts its harvest which is scheduled at the end of December 2022.
