As of December 6, 2023, the inventory of sesame seeds in Huangdao Port, China, increased by 26.99% month-on-month (MoM) and 23.56% year-on-year (YoY), reaching 141.1 thousand metric tons (mt). In W49, sesame seeds from Pakistan dominate the port inventory, followed by Tanzania and Mozambique. However, the price is downward due to the off-season demand and weak economy. Traders are hesitant to build stock with limited margins, while end-buyers are waiting for a better price. Additionally, there is a significant price range due to the varying quality of sesame seeds.
