The persistent heavy rains in Brazil's Southeast region from W3 to W5 have led to domestic potato shortages, resulting in elevated prices. Potatoes are now being imported from Argentina to meet demand, causing wholesale prices to reach USD 20.18 per 25 kilogram (kg) bags during W5. This price is twice the usual cost during the high season for potatoes.
