Barhe or Barhi (from Arabic Barh, a hot wind) —more rounded variety of Dates that is soft and creamy.
These sweet delicious Dates just melt in your mouth, light amber to dark brown when ripe; with thick flesh and rich flavor. It tastes semi-sweet and is as crisp as apples. These Dates are very healthy and contain a good amount of nutrition that can help us to stay fit. You can also make a good recipe out of these Dates like Dates shake and much more.
The world's oldest cultivated fruit, also known as the King of Dates, Madjool dates are originated in North Africa, where they were reserved for royalty. With their large size, juicy flesh, and sweet, caramel-like flavor, Medjool dates are among the most prized worldwide both for their unique taste, size and for the fact that growing them well, to ensure superior quality, is highly labor-intensive.
On our supplier's farm, this starts from high quality imported tissue culture seedlings, to removing thorns off the date fronds, to hand-pollinating each female palm several times, to removing strands of dates entirely, and finally thinning each strand (removing fruit) to provide better airflow and allow each date to reach it's potential. All that beforehand harvesting! This is done when dates reach the exact ripeness needed and are picked to leave the rest to ripen; they are then laid in racks to dry in sun and checked/ rotated daily until they reach just the right humidity.
