Tomato paste opening prices 16% higher than last year

Italy announced opening prices of tomato paste 16% higher than last year due to the ongoing supply crisis since 2020. As of Oct21, Italy's price for 28/30 bx. tomato paste is about $1.025/mt FOB whereas Turkey's price range for 28/30bx. tomato paste is USD 980-990 per MT FOB. However, Turkish manufacturers are now working with full capacity and already sold most of their stocks, so the remaining stock will be offered at higher prices.
