In the 2 months of the year, 337 MT of anchovy was exported from Turkey, and USD 1 million 663 thousand 26 was obtained. The highest export was made to Belgium with USD 566 thousand 872. France and the USA followed Belgium. During this period, the country that increased its exports the most was Spain. In two months of the year, anchovies were exported to Italy, Kenya, and Syria, unlike the same period last year.
In the 2021/2022 fishing season, exports remained low due to the low anchovy harvest and high prices at the beginning of the season. The country's diversity has also increased with the anchovy being further processed. Considering this situation, it is believed that the demand will increase further in the coming seasons, with anchovies being processed into products that are processed according to the taste of each country, producing innovative value-added products and placing them on the shelves in a way that can be consumed for 12 months. In this case, the number of exporting countries will also increase.
