Palm kernel shell, a by-product of palm oil production, is becoming a popular alternative to wood pellets as a biofuel and can be used almost interchangeably. Large producers of palm oil in South East Asia and Nigeria are looking to popular wood pellet importers like Japan and South Korea to increase sales as they are more fuel source flexible than Europe.
