Presence of the walnut husk fly will effect this year's European walnut yield negatively

The walnut yield will be effected Europe-wide by the damage caused by the walnut husk fly, native to southern and central USA, actively causing damage in western USA since the 1920s and in Europe since the early 1990s. The attacked fruit will be pitted by punctures, around which some discoloration usually occurs.
