A weather anomaly in Dieng regency in the West Java province has raised concerns among the farmers in the region regarding the safety of their black tea crops. The air temperature in this region fell to around 2-3 degrees Celcius during the day and almost to zero during the night, which in turn increase the risk of their crops becoming frozen and unprocessable. The drop in air temperature in this region came without any apparent warning and has happened twice so far in June. The study for this abnormality is still being undertaken by the local government agency in order to present an early warning system for the changes in the weather patterns and a proper way for the farmers to protect their black tea and other agricultural crops.
