Foodgrain production in India in 2019-20 is estimated to be 295.67 million MT, a rise if 3.6% year-on-year than 2018-19, and the forecast of 2020-21 has been estimated at 298 million MT. Favorable monsoon rains in the current production timeline and forecast of another good monsoon in the upcoming timeline are reasons why production volume is expected to increase this year despite the COVID pandemic.
