Since the announcement of the precautionary measurements, Morocco decided to take to fight the spread of COVID-19 a lot of sectors are witnessing a huge negative impact on their activities, and, the sea fishing sector is also hit hard by the COVID-19 crisis, the latter led to a reduction in the prices of fishery products in the main fish markets. Despite the drop in prices which currently fluctuates between 60 and 70%, professionals maintain their supply on the national market given the strategic importance of this sector during the period of crisis. To speak numbers, a case of anchovies is currently sold at 40 MAD, against 300 to 400 MAD a week earlier, 24 kg of sardines are sold for 50 MAD, meaning 2 MAD for each Kg.
