Malaysian government encourages farmers to grow corn

The Malaysian government encourages farmers to grow grain corn as it sees having to import four million tonnes of corn worth more than RM3 billion a year for the local poultry farms. Although many farmers do not want to risk planting corn as they are relatively new in Malaysia, the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry (MOA) has brought in these crops and provided appropriate courses and assistance to attract more farmers to grow corn.
