The harvest of Caspian sea sprat has started in main regions of Mazandaran and Gilan in Iran and by the end of July, the peak of the harvest, the fishermen will be able to give a good estimation of the production. Last year Iranian fishermen caught 23 KMT of Caspian sea sprat which was less by more than 11% compared to the 2018 harvest. The sea sprat is purchased by seafood processors in general, and the sprat is used to make fish flour.
