Following the decision by the central government to shut down all flight activities starting the end of April to early June 2020, the agricultural suppliers and importers are now forced to send their products to other countries or source agricultural products from other countries by sea. From the export perspective, this newly-implemented rule is expected to affect the suppliers of cabbage and carrot who regularly export their products to Singapore and Malaysia by air-freight, as well as exporters of fruits such as mangosteen to China. From the import side, this would mean that fruit importers such as Hass avocado and pear importers would need a longer time to get the supply of products and may have to worry about their fruits turning bad.
