Australian pumpkin seasonality and export opportunities

Australia produces around 120,000 tonnes of pumpkins annually, and are available in the Queensland region from June to January.

Australian pumpkins are exported primarily to Japan, but only make up approximately 1% of Japan's pumpkin imports.

Most of the pumpkins produced in Australia are consumed domestically but the ongoing challenge is to grow the export markets for Australian pumpkins.
