Romania's grain crops has been severely compromised due to the prolonged drought, resuming its estimates to half capacity.

Around 3 million hectares of sown cereals including wheat, barley, rape, rye have been affected, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development had reported. The current crop yielding is expected to fully cover the domestic consumption and the Ministry Adrian Oros had discarded a future food crisis in the country.

However the Ministry alerted that farmers and producers must be domestic supply oriented as stocks are expected to be tight. Still the country will potentially attend the Egypcian tender for wheat depending on the international prices in the market and the level of demand. The Ministry calculates at least a surplus of 2MMT for that cereal.
