On October 29th, the government of Aguascalientes (central Mexico) has announced an enhanced financial aid program to Guava producers in order to develop their production capacity and enhance their quality as well. But this is not limited only to guava producers, since these aids have also been directed to growers of products such as grape, peach, strawberry, tomato, among others. The main goal of this program is to develop and strengthen producers from the state of Aguascalientes, by improving their infrastructure, greenhouse production, agroindustry technologies, and overall quality on orchards and packinghouses so as to obtain international quality certifications, which altogether will open foreign markets for Aguascalientes' producers and will benefit the economy of this productive sector in central Mexico.
