The conflict in Yemen has resulted in the suspension of shipping services in the Red Sea to Gulf countries. This has caused a surge in demand for air freight to Gulf countries, leading to a 33% month-on-month (MoM) increase in air freight fees. In Dec-23, the fee rose to USD 2 per kilogram (kg), up from USD 1.5/kg in Nov-23.
