Even though Australian lobster was officially banned to export directly to Mainland China since November 2020, customs records show there has been a notorious increase in exports to Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Hong Kong has been by far the largest importer. In October 2020, imported levels of Australian rock lobster were less than 2 MT. However, in March 2021 this level was increased to almost 300 MT.
