The commercialization of cashew nuts in Zambezia Province is lower than predicted, reaching 14 thousand tons, against the 16 thousand tons planned for the province. According to the State Secretary of the Province of Zambezia, various factors led to the failure to meet the cashew marketing goals, primarily mentions that the price in the previous campaign was much lower, getting even below the reference price of 34 meticais per kilogram, and in some provinces, came to cost even 25 meticais per kilo due to lower quality. However, for the 2020/2021 campaign, the province aims to reach the 16 thousand ton goal successfully.
