Laixi District in Qingdao is one of the most significant vegetable planting and exporting area in China, especially for some vegetables of carrot, cabbage, broccoli for Japan and South Korea. On 4 March, there were 11 new positive cases in another district of Laixi. The number was big enough to have the whole district do nucleic acid test, and on 5 March, the number of positive cases increased to 91. Now Laixi district is locked down as it is set to be high risk area. This measure may put an impact on exporting process and the average price of the vegetables originating from the region.
