Tea Prices in Kenya Continue to Decline With a 5.78% Drop So Far in 2023

Tea prices in Kenya have been on the decline since the latter half of 2022 with the declining trend continuing into 2023. In W1 of January 2023 tea was auctioned at USD 2.25/kg (Ksh. 276.75). Thereafter, average auction prices declined from USD 2.23/kg (Ksh. 274.29) in W2 to USD 2.12/kg (Ksh. 260.76) in W3. This represents a decline of 5.78% since the start of 2023.
