Dried Mango Prices in Kenya Could Stay High Due to Fuel and Electricity Increases

It was expected that dried mango prices in Kenya would come down from the current (W38) price of USD 7.5-8.5/kg when the season starts in early December in most parts of the country. However, that may not necessarily be the case in 2022 following the price increase of fuel between 13-18% and power by about 20%. Most commercial mango processors rely on fuel and electric power to run their dryers. The mango processors will spend more to run their machines resulting in insignificant dried mango price reduction this season.
