During W39, the ongoing sunflower harvest in Türkiye has witnessed a significant decline in yield and quality compared to the previous year. This decline is due to insufficient rainfall and prolonged high temperatures, particularly during the critical growth period for sunflowers. While the ideal oil content in sunflowers ranges between 40 to 45%, the 2023 harvest season has seen a 25% decrease. Consequently, it is anticipated that Turkey's imports of crude sunflower oil will rise in 2023 and early 2024 to compensate for this shortfall.
