Economic crisis and war in Europe affect potato imports

Published Mar 10, 2022
Due to the economic crisis and war in Europe, the quantity of imported potato seeds is reduced to half compared to last year. Some of the small farmers received very little amounts that might not be enough to utilize their lands, so they are forced into collaborating with ''bigger farmers'' and growers and traders to get some profit this season. On the bright side, the heavy rain and snowfall this year promise a good crop in this year's potato season, so the abundance of water and moisture in the soil compensates for the economic conditions and promises an excellent yield overall.
