In Dec-23, the price of Egyptian onions rose by 40% month-on-month (MoM), reaching USD 1.29 per kilogram (kg) compared to USD 0.81/kg in Nov-23. This increase is attributed to low market stock, the separation between two cultivation seasons, and a scarcity of available stock in the market during that period.
