French wine exporters had to face the decline of French wines sales in the U.S. market in 2020, because of the Trump tax and the lock down due to Covid-19. In 2021, the lifting of the Trump tax until 2026 and the reopening of the restaurant industry have boosted French wine sales in the U.S. market, increase of 26% in volume and increase of 40% in value compared to 2020. Hence, the US importers are less hesitant to consider new French suppliers.
