The price of chicken in the Johor Bahru market has been sold at USD 2.37 per kilogram since Monday on 4 April compared to the government's ceiling price of USD 2.11 per kilogram. Traders are getting caught up in receiving supplies at a high price of USD 2.04 per kilogram from the suppliers, including the transportation cost of RM1 per kilogram. The high input price leaves most traders fail to comply with the government's set fresh chicken ceiling price.
