Russia Produces More Hatching Eggs Than Required for Domestic Consumption

For many years, Russia was dependent on importing hatching egg supplies from the Czech Republic and the Netherlands due to the insufficient number of local breeding centers. However, since October 14, 2022, Russia has banned the import of hatching eggs from these two countries due to bird flu, but there won't be a scarcity of hatching eggs because in 2022 Russia has its first positive egg balance, where supply outweighs domestic demand. This is due to the fact that the Russian government adopted an urgent programme to support and develop breeding enterprises-reproducers in 2020–2021 when bird flu was raging in Europe and Russian producers were critically short of hatching eggs. Russia is producing eggs in excess of the needs of its domestic market and is ready for export.
