As Irina Mokerova, co-chair of the Union of Fishermen of the North, clarified, there is still hope for a greater catch.

Fishing has been going tough from the very beginning. Now there are almost no fish left, said Irina Mokerova. The fishers in the Barents Sea have difficulty catching cod and haddock.

Recall that capelin fishing began at the end of February; Russia and Norway received a quota after three years of inactivity in this direction. Two vessels with a catch arrived in Murmansk, on 28 March. It is not ruled out that this may be the last delivery.

The capelin was sold at USD 1.58/kg at the Fish fair with a limit of 5 kg per person. On Friday, Murmansk residents sold out 5.5/mt of capelin in 4.5 hours at the Leninsky market.
