The costs of fruits and vegetable production in Portugal are being affected by the following 3 things:

- Increases in Carton Box: increased twice since January 2021
- Electricity: Portugal is ranking number 8 in higher Electricity costs In EU and this year increased 3% in July and 3% in October
- Fuel prices: Portugal had registered 36 increases in the last 43 weeks, and in total, the gasoline price is almost 20% higher than in January 2020.

Fruits and Vegetable Suppliers have asked the government for support because all these price spikes will lead to non-competitive prices in the export market.
