Non-GMO certificate mandatory for import to India

Non-GM Certification has been made mandatory for the import of certain fresh products in India. This includes apple, eggplant, maize, wheat, melon, pineapple, papaya, plum, potato, rice, soybean, sugarbeet, sugarcane, tomato, sweet pepper, squash, flaxseed, bean , plum, and chicory. This move aims to restrict the entry of GM crops in India. This rule will come into force from March 1st,2021.
