The Jamaican government is looking to lease vacant land owned by citizens for the use of agriculture production to increase the nation's food security. The country has developed a program to lease arable land from owners to farmers to grow their crops and is open to residents and expats owning a minimum of 100 acres. The initiative is being coordinated through the State Minister for Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, the Agro-Investment Corporation, Rural Agricultural Development Authority, and JAMPRO.
