One of Turkey's first pilot shrimp production facilities was built, and a private company started jumbo shrimp production. Also, the company, which succeeded in producing 16-20 caliber (50 gr) jumbo shrimp for the first time in Turkey, plans to avoid imports of up to USD 7 million annually and then export to countries where this product is heavily consumed, especially to the USA. Additionally, they earned a certificate from the international certification body GLOBAL GAP. This investment should be considered an essential step for developing the shrimp industry in Turkey.
