It is expected that in the second half of 2020 going South Africa will witness a massive harvest. The weather conditions the past few months have been very favourable and there has been above-average rainfall across the country. According to the experts, the rainfall will continue due to the high probability of a La Niña forming over the region in the next few months. Recent forecasts from the South African Crop Estimates Committee anticipates an increase in harvests in 2020 compared to 2019. Notably, the total grain and oilseed output is estimated to be 34% higher compared to last year.
