The most exported fruits from Argentina in terms of volume also exhibited growth in a y-o-y comparison. Pear exports grew by 11%, being its main destinations Brazil (close to 92K tons), Russia (about 85K tons), the United States (a tad over 38K tones), and Italy (just a little over 25K tons).

In second place came lemons, achieving a growth of 6%. In this case, it is important to remember this was an unusual year in light of the restrictions implemented by the European Union due to the appearance of the black spot disease in citrus.

Nevertheless, before the ban was enforced, most of the shipments were able to reach their destination and the export exceeded last year’s figures. The main markets for lemon were Russia with almost 58K tons; The United States with 33,5K tones; The Netherlands with nearly 32K tones and Spain just barely surpassing 25K tons.
