Norwegian Fresh Salmon Exports Inched Up, Prices Dipped in W11

During W11, Norway experienced a slight increase in the export of fresh salmon, rising by just 0.90% week-on-week (WoW), particularly in the 3-6 kilogram (kg) Superior Salmon category. This resulted in an additional 132 metric tons (mt) of fish exported. However, there was a notable decrease in price, with a 4.94% WoW decline to USD 10.37 per kilogram (kg) Free Carrier (FCA) Oslo. Fresh salmon price is expected to remain above USD 10.86/kg FCA Oslo throughout Apr-24 and May-24. Nevertheless, it is unlikely to reach the peak price observed in the W9, which remains the highest recorded for 2024.
