In W51, cucumber prices at the McAllen market in the United States surged to a high average, ranging from USD 28 to 32 per 20 lbs for Extra Fancy and Fancy quality. Although the warehouse has quality meeting requirements, demand surpasses the offer from Mexico's Jalisco and Michoacan at this season stage. The market prices are expected to continue rising until late Jan-24 when Sinaloa and the northern Mexican states start their first transition harvest of the season.
