The price of sorghum increased to USD 0.62 -USD 0.64 per kg at the end of week 43 in major North Central and North Western markets due to the mop-up by major brewers in the country. The sorghum trade ecosystem thrives largely on incentives (pre-season funding to out-growers, provision of quality seeds, fertilizer, best practices advocacy on planting, etc) given by international and local brewers to farmers.
