The continuing rains in Ghana, which has characterised the ongoing 2022 minor rainy season, has negatively affected the harvest volume of fresh cassava, which is the main raw material for processed cassava starch. Ghanaian cassava starch producers are operating below 10% of full operating capacity in W39 with the major producers producing around 10MT/day out of a total installed capacity of 160MT. The under production is having a knock on effect on outgoing orders, with further delays to be expected.
