Cherry with a mildly sour taste and sweet crunch is a premium fruit in the Vietnamese market, and is very popular among Vietnamese consumers. The fruit must have a stem, still crispy, slightly sour but not too sour, and the color of the fruit has to be dark red. All of the above criteria are directly sensory evaluated by customers and extremely difficult to sell if the quality does not meet these. Because of this, purchasers frequently import a limited quantity to sell each time. In W51, the Australian, Chile, and New Zealand cherries are selling at retail prices as follows:
Australian cherry stood at USD 60/2kg and USD 102/5kg
Chilean cherry stood at USD 41/2.5kg and USD 95/5kg
New Zealand cherry stood at USD 54/2kg.
