Avocado Prices Surge in Rotterdam Wholesale Market as Supply Drops During W38, Buyers Anticipate Higher Costs

During W38, in the wholesale market of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the prices for Hass avocados from Kenya, Colombia, and Peru adjusted in response to market demand during W37. For Hass avocados from Kenya (18>24, 4kg), the price increased from USD 7.41 per 4 kg box (EUR 7/4kg box) to USD 9.53/4kg box (EUR 9/4kg box), avocados from Kenya (26/28/30, 10kg) rose to USD 12.18/4kg box (EUR 11.50/4 kg box). The price of Colombian Hass avocados is forecasted to increase with new arrivals for W39. Hass avocados from Peru increased from USD 6.88/4kg box (EUR 6.50/4kg box) to USD 10.59/4kg box (EUR 10/4kg box.
The Netherlands avocado market faces low supply levels, with buyers anticipating reduced volumes from avocado-producing countries. As a result, prices are forecasted to remain high in the foreseeable future.
