During W37, the price of rice in various Indonesian cities has continued to increase, with wholesale prices in Jakarta rising by 7 to 8% compared to the previous week. Medium quality rice stood at USD 0.84 to 0.91 per kilogram (kg) (IDR 13,000 to 14,000/kg). However, retailers are unable to pass on the same level of price increase to consumers as the volume of purchases per consumer is declining.
