The average monthly prices of the olive oil in three categories, “extra virgin,” “virgin,” and “lampante,” were higher than those registered in the previous month. This rise could be partly motivated by the “contagion effect” of the increase in sunflower oil prices due to the war in Ukraine. As a result, the difference in “extra virgin” price compared to “lampante” reached USD 0.27/kg. Olive oil stocks in Andalusian oil mills as of 28 February amounted to 806,780/mt, 81.9% of the olive oil stocks in national oil mills on the same date.
