The export ban of baby lobster from Indonesia effectively from December 2020

Following the recent instruction by the government to re-evaluate the rule of the export of lobster seed or baby lobster from Indonesia, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of Indonesia has made it official to completely ban the export of this commodity starting December 2020. This new regulation was made as there have been reports of exporters who have been trying to bypass the allowed export volume or try to export the lobster seed in large volume illegally. Moreover, this regulation was deemed essential as the government needs to ensure the sustainability of the national lobster industry.
